Dr. Kristina Gordon will be presenting on “The Marriage Check-up”  
 

About the Presentation:
This talk will provide an overview of a new motivational intervention, provided by the Relationship Rx Program, that helps couples address problems in their marriage before they become too big to solve. The Marriage Checkup is not therapy, but an informational health service that provides confidential, personalized feedback designed to help couples keep their relationship on track. We will also provide new and exciting data from a long-term federally-funded clinical trial that evaluated the efficacy of this program and discuss our experiences with an on-going federally funded project occurring here in Knoxville that examines how to implement this program with a low-income and diverse population.

Brief BIO on Presenter, Kristina Gordon:
Dr. Gordon received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her clinical psychology internship at the Brown University Consortium. She is currently Professor and Associate Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychology at the University of Tennessee. She is the co-author of two books on how to help couples recover following infidelity, and of numerous articles on forgiveness, infidelity, intimate partner violence, marital distress and depression. She is the director of Relationship Rx, a program on how to improve relationship health instead of simply treating marital distress. She also maintains a small private practice specializing in couple therapy. Finally, and most importantly, she is mom to two great daughters and wife to a supportive husband.

The Luncheon will begin @ 11:30am with a “Brown Bag” lunch and will conclude @ 1:30 with the presentation of Certificates for 1.5 hours of Continuing Education.
